Security Officer

1. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors within the Atrium Health facilities.
2. Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed entry.
3. Conduct regular patrols of the facility and grounds to identify and address any potential security threats or hazards.
4. Respond to and appropriately handle any security incidents or emergencies, including but not limited to medical emergencies, fire alarms, and disruptive individuals.
5. Enforce Atrium Health's security policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws and regulations.
6. Utilize surveillance systems and other security equipment to monitor and detect any suspicious or unauthorized activities.
7. Investigate and report any security breaches, incidents, or violations to the appropriate authorities.
8. Collaborate with other security personnel and departments to ensure a coordinated response to security threats or incidents.
9. Provide excellent customer service and assistance to patients, staff, and visitors, including directing them to their destinations and answering any questions they may have.
10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in security and emergency management to continuously improve the safety and security of Atrium Health facilities.
11. Attend and participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to security.
12. Maintain accurate and detailed records of security activities, incidents, and investigations.
13. Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management to ensure a safe and secure environment is maintained at all times.
14. Act as a role model for professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior in all interactions with patients, staff, and visitors.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Supervisor or other members of the Atrium Health leadership team.
