Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with a desire to specialize in oncology? Atrium Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an RN in our Residency Oncology program. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced nurses and physicians while developing your skills and expertise in caring for oncology patients. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and comprehensive care to those battling cancer. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing and current RN licensure are required for this position.

  1. Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients with cancer.
  2. Collaborate with experienced nurses and physicians to develop specialized skills in oncology.
  3. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess and address patient needs.
  4. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  6. Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and self-care measures.
  7. Monitor and report changes in patient condition and response to treatment.
  8. Assist in the coordination of patient care and interdisciplinary communication.
  9. Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge of current oncology practices and procedures.
  11. Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met and concerns are addressed.
  12. Demonstrate professional behavior and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  13. Interact with patients and their families in a kind, empathetic, and non-judgmental manner.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  15. Adhere to all hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
  16. Demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care and promoting patient satisfaction.
  17. Serve as a role model for nursing students and new nurses in the residency program.
  18. Continuously strive to improve patient outcomes and promote a positive work environment.
  19. Maintain a strong work ethic and demonstrate reliability and accountability in all job duties.
  20. Comply with all licensure and certification requirements.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position.

  • Active Rn License: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid And Current Rn License In The State Of North Carolina.

  • Oncology Experience: Candidates Must Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In An Oncology Setting To Be Considered For This Residency Program.

  • Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is Required And Must Be Maintained Throughout Employment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Healthcare Teams.
