  1. Administer respiratory therapy treatments to patients, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
  2. Monitor and assess patient responses to treatments and adjust as needed to ensure optimal care.
  3. Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and self-management techniques.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Conduct diagnostic tests and interpret results to aid in the diagnosis of respiratory conditions.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and communicate with other team members to ensure continuity of care.
  7. Provide emergency respiratory care in critical situations.
  8. Stay current on advancements and changes in respiratory therapy practices and technology.
  9. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  10. Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with patients and their families.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of respiratory care services.
  12. Mentor and train new respiratory therapists and students as needed.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of respiratory care.
  14. Collaborate with insurance companies and other payers to obtain authorization for treatments and ensure proper billing and documentation.
  15. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating effectively and working as a team player.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy: Atrium Health Requires All Registered Respiratory Therapists To Have A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current Rrt Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Current Certification As A Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc).

  • Active State License: Applicants Must Possess A Valid And Active State License To Practice As A Respiratory Therapist In The State Of North Carolina.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience: Atrium Health Prefers Candidates With A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Setting Or Other Healthcare Facility.

  • Knowledge Of Respiratory Care Equipment And Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Respiratory Care Equipment And Procedures, Such As Ventilator Management, Arterial Blood Gas Analysis, And Pulmonary Function Testing.
