Job Description

  1. Provide high-quality and compassionate nursing care to patients with kidney diseases, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing procedures as necessary.
  2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, based on their specific needs and conditions.
  3. Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge of nephrology to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with kidney diseases, including acute and chronic renal failure, kidney transplant, and dialysis patients.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  5. Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, treatment options, and self-care techniques to promote optimal health and wellness.
  6. Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatments and adjust care plans as needed.
  7. Adhere to all infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including physicians, to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes.
  9. Stay current with advancements in nephrology and implement evidence-based practices to improve patient care.
  10. Maintain professional standards of practice, including ethical principles and regulatory guidelines, to provide safe and ethical care for patients.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing education and professional development to maintain and enhance nursing skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License: The Candidate Must Possess A Current And Active Registered Nurse License In The State Of North Carolina, Or Be Eligible To Obtain One.

  • Nephrology Specialty Certification: Atrium Health Requires Candidates For This Position To Hold A Certification In Nephrology Nursing, Such As The Certified Nephrology Nurse (Cnn) Or Certified Dialysis Nurse (Cdn) Credentials.

  • Clinical Experience In Nephrology: A Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience As A Registered Nurse In A Nephrology Setting Is Required For This Position. This Includes Experience In Dialysis, Transplant, Or General Nephrology Care.

  • Bls And Acls Certifications: The Candidate Must Be Certified In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls). These Certifications Must Be Maintained Throughout Employment.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, And Be Able To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team To Provide High-Quality Patient Care.
