  1. Provide comprehensive pain management services to patients under the direction of physicians and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  2. Conduct patient assessments to determine the severity and nature of their pain.
  3. Develop and implement individualized pain management plans for patients.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Monitor patients' pain levels and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  6. Educate patients on pain management techniques and self-care practices.
  7. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure effective pain management.
  8. Document patient care and treatment plans accurately and thoroughly.
  9. Maintain a compassionate and empathetic approach when interacting with patients.
  10. Stay up-to-date on current pain management practices and advances in the field.
  11. Adhere to all healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
  12. Maintain a safe and clean working environment for patients and staff.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  14. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  15. Attend trainings and conferences to further knowledge and skills in pain management.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn Licensure: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid And Active Registered Nurse License From The State In Which They Will Be Working, Ensuring They Have Met All Educational And Training Requirements.

  • Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience In Pain Management: Atrium Health Requires A Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience In Pain Management For This Role, Which Includes Experience With Various Pain Management Techniques, Medications, And Patient Education.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: Atrium Health Prefers Candidates With A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field. This Educational Background Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice.

  • Certification In Pain Management Nursing: Candidates Should Hold A Valid Certification In Pain Management Nursing From A Recognized Accrediting Body Such As The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc) Or The American Society For Pain Management Nursing (Aspmn).

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Pain Management Nurse, The Candidate Will Work Closely With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Healthcare Teams. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For Providing Quality Care And Building Relationships With Patients.
