We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cancer Infusion team. As a Cancer Infusion Nurse, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals undergoing cancer treatment. This is a highly specialized role that requires a strong clinical background, as well as a deep understanding of the physical and emotional challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis.   1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
  2. Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion treatments safely and accurately.
  3. Monitor patients' vital signs and symptoms, and promptly report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  4. Educate patients and their families about their treatment plans, side effects, and self-care measures.
  5. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans for patients.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, including medication administration and patient response.
  7. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety and infection control.
  8. Assist with the management of adverse reactions and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
  9. Advocate for patients and provide emotional support to help them cope with the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
  10. Stay current on the latest advancements and best practices in cancer treatment and nursing care.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
  12. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Atrium Health and promote a positive work culture.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor to other team members, including new nurses and nursing students.
  14. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
  15. Attend and actively participate in team meetings, staff development programs, and continuing education opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn License: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid And Current Registered Nurse License From The State Of North Carolina Or Be Eligible To Obtain One.

  • Oncology Certification: Atrium Health Requires All Rns Working In The Cancer Infusion Department To Have A Current Certification In Oncology Nursing, Such As Ocn Or Ccrn.

  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Administration Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Administering Chemotherapy And Biotherapy Drugs, As Well As Experience In Managing Central Lines And Other Infusion Devices.

  • Strong Clinical Skills: Atrium Health Looks For Candidates With Exceptional Clinical Skills, Including The Ability To Assess, Plan, Implement, And Evaluate Patient Care, As Well As The Ability To Identify And Respond To Potential Complications And Adverse Reactions.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork: Effective Communication And Collaboration With Physicians, Colleagues, And Patients Are Essential For Success In This Role. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Work Well In A Team Setting.
