  1. Provide top-quality care to neonatal patients and their families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Atrium Health.
  2. Utilize knowledge and skills from Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  3. Monitor and document patient progress and make appropriate adjustments to care plans.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic and comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Utilize evidence-based practices to provide safe and effective care to neonatal patients.
  6. Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
  7. Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform procedures according to established protocols.
  8. Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  11. Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in neonatal care.
  12. Maintain a compassionate and empathetic approach when interacting with patients and their families.
  13. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment within the NICU team.
  14. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  15. Remain current on advancements and developments in the field of neonatal care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn): A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position, Demonstrating A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice.

  • Registered Nurse (Rn) Licensure: Candidates Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of North Carolina Or Be Eligible To Obtain One. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Qualified To Practice In The State And Has Met All Necessary Requirements.

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Is Preferred For This Role. This Demonstrates The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Care For Critically Ill Newborns.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certification: Candidates Must Hold Current Bls And Nrp Certifications Or Be Able To Obtain Them Within A Specified Timeframe. These Certifications Are Crucial For Providing Emergency Care To Infants In The Nicu.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Member Of A Multidisciplinary Team, Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Providing Quality Care To Patients And Families In The Nicu. Candidates Must Be Able To Collaborate And Work Well With Others In A Fast-Paced Environment.
