  1. Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients following prescribed treatment plans.
  2. Prepare and position patients for treatment using specialized equipment.
  3. Monitor and document patient reactions and progress during treatments.
  4. Ensure safety measures are followed at all times to protect both patients and staff.
  5. Collaborate with the radiation oncologist and other healthcare team members to develop treatment plans.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  7. Educate patients and their families on radiation therapy procedures and potential side effects.
  8. Monitor and maintain equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues.
  9. Stay current with advancements and developments in radiation therapy techniques and equipment.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  11. Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing best practices.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  14. Attend and participate in continuing education and training opportunities.
  15. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the treatment process.
  16. Assist in the scheduling and coordination of patient appointments.
  17. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice.
  18. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  19. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  20. Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy Or Related Field: Atrium Health Requires All Radiation Therapists To Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certification By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt): Atrium Health Requires All Radiation Therapists To Be Certified By The Arrt. This Certification Demonstrates That The Individual Has Met The National Standards For Knowledge, Skills, And Experience In Radiation Therapy.

  • State Licensure: In Addition To Arrt Certification, Atrium Health Requires Radiation Therapists To Hold A Valid State License To Practice In The State In Which They Will Be Working. This Ensures That The Individual Is Qualified And Authorized To Provide Radiation Therapy Services.

  • Experience In Radiation Therapy: Atrium Health Prefers Candidates With At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Radiation Therapy. This Experience Provides A Strong Foundation In The Field And Demonstrates The Ability To Perform The Job Duties Effectively.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Radiation Therapist At Atrium Health, It Is Essential To Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial For Providing Quality Care And Ensuring A Positive Patient Experience.
