Job Description

  1. Conduct individual psychotherapy sessions with patients to address various mental health concerns and promote overall well-being.
  2. Develop treatment plans and goals in collaboration with patients, taking into consideration their unique needs and preferences.
  3. Provide evidence-based interventions and techniques to help patients manage and overcome their mental health challenges.
  4. Utilize a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach when working with a diverse patient population.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
  7. Continuously evaluate and monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  8. Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  9. Stay current on the latest research and developments in the field of psychotherapy, incorporating new techniques and approaches into practice when appropriate.
  10. Participate in regular supervision and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and boundaries with patients at all times.
  12. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by communicating effectively with colleagues, seeking and providing feedback, and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  13. Actively participate in departmental meetings and committees to contribute to the growth and development of the organization.
  14. Serve as an advocate for mental health and promote awareness and understanding in the community through outreach and education initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Psychology Or Related Field: A Potential Psychotherapist At Atrium Health Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Psychology Or A Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • State Licensure: Atrium Health Requires All Psychotherapists To Be Licensed In The State They Will Be Practicing In. This Ensures That The Therapist Has Met The Necessary Requirements And Has The Necessary Skills To Provide Quality Care.
