- Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Collect and label specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure patient safety and infection control.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risk of exposure to potentially infectious materials.
- Verify patient information and accurately record all collected specimens.
- Communicate with patients in a compassionate and professional manner, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure proper handling and transportation of specimens.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by Atrium Health and regulatory agencies.
- Regularly participate in continuing education and training to maintain certification and stay current on best practices.
- Utilize computer systems and electronic medical records to document and track specimen collection and patient information.
- Assist with inventory management and stocking of phlebotomy supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Attend team meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Represent Atrium Health in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) Or Equivalent Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting.
Knowledge Of Phlebotomy Procedures, Including Venipuncture And Capillary Puncture, And Ability To Follow Established Protocols.
Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Understanding Of Laboratory Tests And Their Significance.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact Professionally With Patients, Colleagues, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
