Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to understand patients' medication coverage and identify any potential barriers to accessing medications.
  2. Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to advocate for appropriate coverage and timely access to medications.
  3. Educate patients on their insurance coverage and potential out-of-pocket costs for medications.
  4. Assist patients in navigating the prior authorization process and provide support in obtaining necessary documentation and information.
  5. Communicate with pharmacy staff to ensure timely processing and filling of prescriptions.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient information and insurance coverage.
  7. Work closely with the billing department to resolve any insurance coverage or billing issues.
  8. Continuously monitor and review insurance plans and policy changes to stay informed of any potential impact on patients' medication coverage.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and address any concerns or questions regarding their medication coverage.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop strategies to improve medication access for patients.
  11. Participate in training and development opportunities to stay current on insurance plans and processes.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  13. Adhere to all pharmacy and insurance regulations and policies.
  14. Provide regular reports and updates to management regarding medication access and barriers.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Related Field Or Equivalent Experience In Pharmacy Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medication Assistance Programs And Insurance Coverage Processes.

  • Strong Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations And Medication Dispensing Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Providers, And Insurance Companies.

  • Ability To Maintain Confidential Information And Adhere To Hipaa Regulations.
