We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Scheduling Coordinator for our Ophthalmology department. As the Patient Scheduling Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive timely and efficient appointments for their eye care needs.   1. Schedule patient appointments for the Ophthalmology department, ensuring timely and efficient care for all patients.
  2. Maintain an organized and accurate schedule, making adjustments as needed to accommodate patient and provider availability.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare staff to coordinate appointments and address any scheduling conflicts.
  4. Utilize electronic medical records and scheduling systems to accurately record and track patient appointments and updates.
  5. Monitor and manage patient waitlists, ensuring timely follow-up and scheduling of appointments.
  6. Educate patients on appointment procedures and provide necessary information to prepare them for their eye care visit.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and medical facilities to coordinate referrals and transfer of patient information.
  8. Continuously strive to improve and streamline scheduling processes to enhance patient experience and efficiency.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Attend department meetings and trainings to stay updated on any changes or updates in scheduling procedures.
  12. Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the overall functioning of the Ophthalmology department.
  13. Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients and colleagues, promoting a welcoming and caring environment.
  14. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development to enhance skills and knowledge in patient scheduling and healthcare.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Ophthalmology Or A Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Insurance Verification, And Scheduling Software.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Staff.

  • Ability To Multitask And Prioritize In A Fast-Paced Environment.
