  1. Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare staff, ensuring that patients feel supported and informed throughout their healthcare journey.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or needs in a timely and compassionate manner.
  3. Maintain a welcoming and positive attitude, creating a comfortable and caring environment for patients.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare staff, and other team members to ensure a seamless and efficient patient experience.
  5. Assist with patient check-in and registration processes, verifying insurance information and collecting necessary paperwork.
  6. Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures, and tests, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  7. Monitor patient satisfaction and address any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines when handling patient information.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure that patient needs are met and any issues are resolved promptly.
  10. Stay up-to-date on all policies and procedures related to patient care and customer service, and implement them effectively.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Patient Ambassadors Must Have Strong Communication Skills In Order To Interact Effectively With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Staff. They Should Be Able To Convey Information Clearly And Compassionately.

  • Empathy And Compassion: Atrium Health Values Empathy And Compassion In Its Patient Ambassadors. These Individuals Must Have The Ability To Understand And Connect With Patients Who May Be Experiencing Fear, Pain, Or Uncertainty.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Systems And Processes: Patient Ambassadors Should Have A Good Understanding Of How Healthcare Systems And Processes Work In Order To Assist Patients In Navigating Through Them. This Includes Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Insurance, And Appointment Scheduling.

  • Problem-Solving And Critical Thinking Skills: Patient Ambassadors May Encounter Various Challenges And Issues In Their Role, And Should Be Able To Think Critically And Problem-Solve In Order To Find Solutions And Provide Excellent Service To Patients.

  • Ability To Maintain Confidentiality: Patient Ambassadors Will Have Access To Sensitive Patient Information And Must Adhere To Strict Confidentiality Guidelines. They Should Have A Strong Sense Of Professionalism And Integrity In Maintaining Patient Privacy.
