Job Description

  1. Provide basic patient care: The Nurse Assistant I will be responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting. They will also assist with feeding, ambulating, and positioning patients as needed.
  2. Support registered nurses: The Nurse Assistant I will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and will be responsible for carrying out tasks delegated by the RN, such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and administering medications.
  3. Ensure patient safety and comfort: The Nurse Assistant I will be responsible for maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients. This may include monitoring patient activity, reporting any changes in condition, and responding to patient requests.
  4. Communicate effectively: The Nurse Assistant I will need to have excellent communication skills in order to effectively communicate with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members. This may include providing updates on patient care, reporting any concerns, and following proper communication protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate records: It is important for the Nurse Assistant I to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, which may include documenting patient care, recording vital signs, and reporting any changes in condition to the RN.
  6. Collaborate with the healthcare team: The Nurse Assistant I will work closely with other members of the healthcare team, including registered nurses, doctors, and other support staff. This may involve participating in team meetings, providing input on patient care plans, and working together to ensure high-quality care for patients.
