- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently according to established protocols and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in proper working condition and performing necessary calibrations and quality control measures.
- Analyze and interpret test results, identifying any abnormalities or inconsistencies and taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of all laboratory tests and procedures performed, adhering to all documentation and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians and nurses, to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and biohazardous specimens.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in medical technology, incorporating new techniques and methods into daily practice.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns and ensuring a positive healthcare experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, following proper sanitation and disinfection procedures.
- Train and supervise laboratory assistants or other staff members as needed.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines and standards.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to professional development and ongoing education, attending conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Represent Atrium Health in a professional and positive manner, promoting our mission and values in all interactions.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or Related Field
Certification As A Medical Technologist (Mt) Or Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) By A Recognized Accrediting Agency (E.g. Ascp)
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting
Proficiency In Performing A Wide Range Of Laboratory Tests And Procedures, Including But Not Limited To Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, And Blood Bank
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Interpret And Analyze Test Results.
