As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in accurately and efficiently performing laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.   1. Perform laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  2. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accurate results.
  3. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  4. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  5. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot any issues, and report any malfunctions.
  6. Keep accurate records and document all test results in a timely manner.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in laboratory technology and procedures.
  8. Follow established quality control procedures and assist in maintaining laboratory accreditation.
  9. Participate in continuing education and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  10. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  13. Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory policies and procedures.
  14. Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Atrium Health in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree In Medical Laboratory Technology: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Medical Laboratory Technology Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position.

  • Ascp Certification: Applicants Must Possess A Valid Certification From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) As A Medical Laboratory Technician (Mlt).

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment Used In Clinical Settings, Including Conducting Tests And Maintaining Lab Equipment.

  • Attention To Detail: Medical Laboratory Technicians Must Have A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Be Able To Accurately Record And Analyze Data. This Is Crucial For Ensuring Accurate Test Results And Maintaining Patient Safety.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary For This Position, As Medical Laboratory Technicians Often Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals And Interact With Patients. Additionally, The Ability To Explain Test Results And Procedures To Patients Is Essential.
