- Accurately code medical records using established coding guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and coding standards.
- Train and supervise a team of clinical coders, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, including medical staff and billing, to resolve coding and documentation issues.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in coding regulations and guidelines, and implement necessary updates.
- Monitor and track coding productivity and quality metrics.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in coding-related meetings and committees to provide expertise and recommendations.
- Serve as a resource for coding-related questions and concerns, providing guidance and clarification when needed.
- Work closely with the revenue cycle team to ensure accurate and timely coding and billing processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Act as a role model for the coding team, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the coding manager or leadership team.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
Certification As A Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Or Registered Health Information Technician (Rhit).
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Clinical Coding, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Icd-10-Cm And Cpt Coding Systems.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Train And Mentor Other Coders.
