- Provide expert lactation support to new mothers and their newborns, including assessing breastfeeding techniques, addressing challenges, and promoting successful outcomes.
- Educate and empower new mothers on the benefits of breastfeeding and the importance of proper lactation techniques.
- Conduct one-on-one consultations and group classes to educate and support mothers in their breastfeeding journey.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for mothers and newborns.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and progress.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in lactation and breastfeeding to provide evidence-based care.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families, providing compassionate and empathetic support.
- Advocate for breastfeeding policies and practices within the healthcare organization and in the community.
- Participate in outreach programs and community events to promote breastfeeding and lactation education.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare professionals and support staff, providing training and education on lactation and breastfeeding.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to ensure coverage for lactation services and follow billing procedures accurately.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Certification As An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (Ibclc) Or Equivalent Qualification.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Lactation Consultant In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Breastfeeding Techniques And Ability To Provide Education And Support To New Mothers.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Diverse Patients And Their Families.
