We are currently seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Lactation Consultant to join our team. As a Lactation Consultant, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering new mothers to successfully breastfeed their newborns. Our ideal candidate will have a strong passion for maternal and infant health, as well as the necessary qualifications and experience to guide and educate new mothers on breastfeeding techniques and strategies.   1. Provide comprehensive lactation support to new mothers and their families, both in-person and virtually.
  2. Conduct individual and group consultations to assess and address breastfeeding concerns and difficulties.
  3. Assist new mothers in establishing and maintaining a successful breastfeeding relationship with their newborns.
  4. Educate and empower new mothers on proper breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and management of common breastfeeding challenges.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for breastfeeding mothers and infants.
  6. Keep accurate and detailed records of consultations, assessments, and interventions.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current research, best practices, and evidence-based guidelines related to lactation and breastfeeding.
  8. Promote and support a breastfeeding-friendly environment within the healthcare facility.
  9. Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote breastfeeding and provide resources to new mothers.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare professionals on lactation and breastfeeding support.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
  12. Contribute to the development and improvement of lactation services at Atrium Health through participation in quality improvement initiatives.
  13. Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families, providing emotional support and encouragement as needed.
  14. Continuously evaluate and adjust lactation support strategies to meet the diverse needs of patients and families.
  15. Attend professional development opportunities and maintain necessary certifications and licensure to ensure the highest level of care for patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Lactation Consultant (Clc) Or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (Ibclc) Credentials.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Healthcare, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Breastfeeding Support And Education.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Infant And Maternal Nutrition, Lactation Physiology, And Breastfeeding Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Support And Educate New Mothers And Families.
