  1. Conduct thorough medical evaluations and assessments of patients, including reviewing medical history, performing physical exams, and ordering diagnostic tests.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications, performing procedures, and making referrals to other specialists as needed.
  3. Monitor and manage chronic health conditions for patients, including hypertension, diabetes, and other illnesses.
  4. Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and their families, providing them with information about their health conditions and treatment options in a clear and understandable manner.
  5. Collaborate with a team of interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, including nurses, physician assistants, and specialists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients, including documentation of diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  7. Stay current on the latest developments and advancements in the field of internal medicine, including attending conferences and completing continuing education requirements.
  8. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall patient experience and outcomes.
  10. Serve as a mentor and resource for medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support in their education and training.
  11. Adhere to all policies and procedures of Atrium Health, including those related to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
  12. Act as an ambassador for Atrium Health, promoting our mission and values to patients, families, and the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: Candidates Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification: Applicants Must Be Board Certified In Internal Medicine By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Internal Medicine (Aobim).

  • Residency Training: Candidates Must Have Completed A Three-Year Residency In Internal Medicine From An Accredited Program.

  • State Medical License: Applicants Must Hold A Valid And Unrestricted Medical License In The State Of North Carolina, Or Be Eligible For Licensure In The State.

  • Clinical Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience In Internal Medicine, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting. Experience In A Subspecialty Of Internal Medicine, Such As Cardiology Or Gastroenterology, Is Also Desirable.
