Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Human Trafficking Counselor to join our team and provide vital support to survivors.   1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of survivors of human trafficking to determine their individual needs and develop treatment plans accordingly.
  2. Provide trauma-informed counseling services to survivors of human trafficking, utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities.
  3. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and holistic care for survivors.
  4. Maintain a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment for survivors to share their experiences and receive support.
  5. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to address trauma, mental health, and substance abuse issues.
  6. Develop and implement safety plans for survivors, including referrals to community resources and legal services.
  7. Educate survivors on their rights and options for seeking justice and support.
  8. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all counseling sessions and progress made by survivors.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in working with survivors of human trafficking.
  10. Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to raise awareness about human trafficking and provide education on identifying and responding to potential cases.
  11. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations to ensure the best possible care for survivors.
  12. Cultivate and maintain relationships with survivors, providing ongoing support and follow-up care as needed.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines in providing services to survivors.
  14. Represent Atrium Health at conferences, events, and other community outreach opportunities related to human trafficking.
  15. Continuously evaluate and adjust counseling techniques and interventions to improve outcomes for survivors.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Social Work, Counseling, Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working With Survivors Of Human Trafficking Or Individuals Impacted By Trauma.

  • Strong Understanding Of Human Trafficking And Related Issues, Including Knowledge Of Legal, Medical, And Social Services Available To Survivors.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Populations And Build Rapport With Clients.

  • Certification Or Training In Trauma-Informed Care And Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities For Trauma, Such As Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Cbt) Or Eye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing (Emdr).
