
Histology Technician

- Prepare tissue samples for examination by embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting them onto slides.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including microscopes, tissue processors, and stainers.
- Perform routine and specialized staining techniques to enhance the visibility of specific structures within tissue samples.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of results.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis of patient samples.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and results.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality results.
- Stay current with advancements in histology techniques and technology through continuing education and training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote efficiency and safety.
- Train and supervise new histology technicians and laboratory staff as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.

Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field
Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp)
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Histology Laboratory Setting
Proficiency In Various Histology Techniques, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Microtomy, And Staining
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Regulations, As Well As Experience With Quality Assurance And Control Procedures
