  1. Provide high-quality care: The primary responsibility of this role is to provide high-quality care to patients with gastroenterology issues in an inpatient setting.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team: The APP will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
  3. Conduct assessments and exams: The APP will conduct thorough assessments and exams to accurately diagnose and treat patients with gastroenterology conditions.
  4. Develop treatment plans: Based on assessments and exams, the APP will develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  5. Prescribe medication: The APP will have the authority to prescribe medications and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans, under the supervision of a physician.
  6. Monitor patient progress: It will be the responsibility of the APP to closely monitor and track patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  7. Educate patients and families: The APP will educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-care strategies to promote better outcomes.
  8. Document patient care: Accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, is an essential responsibility of this role.
  9. Stay updated on best practices: The APP will stay current with the latest research, evidence-based practices, and guidelines related to gastroenterology and inpatient care to provide the best possible care to patients.
  10. Adhere to regulations and protocols: The APP will follow all relevant regulations, protocols, and policies, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards of practice.
  11. Participate in team meetings: The APP will actively participate in team meetings, providing input and collaborating with colleagues to improve patient care and outcomes.
  12. Continuously improve skills: The APP will actively seek out opportunities for professional development, attending conferences, workshops, and training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge in gastroenterology and inpatient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position.

  • Clinical Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Physician Assistant In A Gastroenterology Inpatient Setting.

  • Licensure And Certification: Must Hold A Valid Physician Assistant License In The State Of Practice And Be Certified By The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).

  • Strong Knowledge Of Gastrointestinal Conditions: The Candidate Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Common Gastrointestinal Disorders, Procedures, And Treatments In An Inpatient Setting.

  • Team Player: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
