
Environmental Services Technician

- Maintain a safe and clean environment: The primary responsibility of the Environmental Services Technician is to ensure that all areas of Atrium Health facilities are clean, sanitized, and free from any potential hazards.
- Follow established protocols and procedures: The technician will be responsible for following all established protocols and procedures to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks: This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks, including but not limited to, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, and waste management.
- Monitor and replenish supplies: The technician will be responsible for monitoring and replenishing supplies such as paper towels, soap, and disinfectants to ensure an adequate supply for all areas of the facility.
- Use proper equipment and techniques: It is the responsibility of the technician to use the appropriate equipment and techniques to effectively clean and sanitize all areas of the facility.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues: The Environmental Services Technician will be responsible for reporting any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
- Adhere to infection control policies: The technician must adhere to all infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Collaborate with other team members: This role requires collaboration with other team members, such as nurses and maintenance staff, to ensure a coordinated effort in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Attend trainings and meetings: The technician will be required to attend trainings and meetings to stay updated on new procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality: As a member of the healthcare team, the technician must maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service: The Environmental Services Technician must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Generally Required For The Position Of Environmental Services Technician At Atrium Health. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And The Ability To Learn And Follow Instructions.
Previous Experience In Environmental Services: Prior Experience In Environmental Services, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Cleaning Procedures, Infection Control Protocols, And Proper Handling Of Hazardous Materials.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As An Environmental Services Technician At Atrium Health, You Will Work As Part Of A Team And Interact With Patients, Visitors, And Other Hospital Staff On A Daily Basis. Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For This Role.
Attention To Detail And Time Management Skills: Environmental Services Technicians Are Responsible For Maintaining A Clean And Safe Environment For Patients And Staff. This Requires Attention To Detail And The Ability To Manage Time Effectively To Complete Tasks In A Timely Manner.
Physical Stamina And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: This Job May Involve Lifting And Moving Heavy Objects, Such As Furniture And Equipment, As Well As Standing And Walking For Extended Periods Of Time. Therefore, Physical Stamina And The Ability To Perform These Tasks Safely Is An Important Qualification For This Role.
