- Review and assess patient medical history and symptoms to determine appropriate ultrasound procedure and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and address any concerns.
- Record and maintain accurate patient information, including images and test results, in electronic medical records.

Completion Of An Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program: Atrium Health Requires Candidates For Their Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist Position To Have Completed An Accredited Program In Diagnostic Medical Sonography. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Comprehensive Training And Is Knowledgeable In The Field.
Certification In Diagnostic Medical Sonography: Atrium Health Prefers Candidates Who Are Certified By The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Or The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt). This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Competence And Expertise In The Field.
