- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
- Take and develop dental x-rays.
- Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Keep accurate and updated patient records.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Maintain a clean and organized dental office.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and smooth operation of the dental office.

- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Completion Of A Dental Assistant Program: Candidates Should Have Completed A Formal Education Program In Dental Assisting, Such As A Certificate Or Associate's Degree Program.
X-Ray Certification: Atrium Health Requires Dental Assistants To Have A Current Certification In Dental Radiography To Safely And Accurately Take Patient X-Rays.
Experience In A Dental Office Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Dental Office, Whether Through Internships, Externships, Or Employment, Is Highly Valued By Atrium Health.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Dental Assistants At Atrium Health Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Dentists, And Other Staff Members.
