- Provide specialized care to patients with brain injuries, following established protocols and treatment plans.
- Monitor and assess patients' physical and mental well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Document patient care and progress accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, following infection control and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and their families, providing emotional support and answering any questions or concerns.
- Participate in educational opportunities to continuously develop and improve skills and knowledge related to brain injury care.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards of practice and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist with transportation and transfer of patients as needed.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude, representing Atrium Health and the Brain Injury Unit in a positive manner at all times.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Atrium Health Requires All Applicants To Have A Valid Cna Certification In Order To Work As A Healthcare Technician On The Brain Injury Unit. This Certification Ensures That Candidates Have Received Proper Training And Have Demonstrated Competency In Providing Basic Patient Care.
Experience In Brain Injury Care: Atrium Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Previous Experience Working With Patients Who Have Suffered From Brain Injuries. This May Include Experience In A Hospital Setting, Rehabilitation Center, Or Other Healthcare Facility.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Atrium Health Requires All Healthcare Technicians To Have A Current Bls Certification. This Certification Is Necessary To Provide Emergency And Basic Life Support Skills In Case Of A Medical Emergency.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Healthcare Technician On The Brain Injury Unit, Effective Communication Is Crucial. Candidates Must Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills In Order To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Team Members.
Physical Ability: Working On The Brain Injury Unit Can Be Physically Demanding, And Candidates Must Be Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job. This May Include Lifting, Transferring, And Assisting Patients With Mobility, As Well As Standing For Long Periods Of Time.
