In this role, you will work closely with our dedicated healthcare professionals to provide compassionate care to patients in our busy Emergency Department. Candidates must hold a valid CNA certification and have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Provide compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department, ensuring their comfort and well-being at all times.
- Assist with the admission and discharge process, including obtaining patient information and updating medical records.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as directed by the nursing staff.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- Assist with patient hygiene and activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Observe and report any changes in patients' conditions and communicate these to the nursing staff.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from procedures and tests within the Emergency Department.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Respond to patient needs and requests promptly and with empathy, ensuring their satisfaction with the care received.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve knowledge and skills in emergency care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, related to patient care.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing staff or management team.
High School Diploma Or Ged: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Cna-Ed Position At Atrium Health Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Shows A Basic Level Of Education And The Ability To Understand And Follow Instructions.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Atrium Health Requires All Candidates For The Cna-Ed Position To Hold A Valid Cna Certification. This Demonstrates A Level Of Competency In Providing Direct Patient Care And Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Atrium Health Also Requires All Cnas To Hold A Current Bls Certification. This Certification Shows That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Basic Life-Saving Techniques.
Previous Experience: While Not Always Required, Previous Experience As A Cna In A Hospital Or Emergency Department Setting Is Highly Desirable For This Position. It Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations And Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment.
Strong Communication Skills: Atrium Health Values Strong Communication Skills In All Employees, But It Is Particularly Important For Cnas In The Ed. Effective Communication Is Essential For Providing Quality Patient Care And Collaborating With Other Healthcare Team Members.
