  1. Ensure accurate and compliant coding: The Clinician Coding Liaison will be responsible for ensuring that coding for medical-based specialties within the behavioral health department is accurate and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Collaborate with team members: The successful candidate will collaborate with various team members including clinicians, coders, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper coding and documentation.
  3. Utilize expertise in behavioral health: This role requires a deep understanding of behavioral health practices and coding, and the Clinician Coding Liaison will be expected to utilize their expertise to improve the accuracy and efficiency of coding within the department.
  4. Identify and resolve coding issues: The candidate will be responsible for identifying and resolving any coding issues or discrepancies, and ensuring that all coding is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  5. Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines: The Clinician Coding Liaison will be expected to stay current with changes in coding guidelines and regulations, and implement these changes into practice as necessary.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Medical Coding And Documentation Requirements For Behavioral Health Services

  • Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Behavioral Health Specialty

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Clinicians And Coding Staff

  • Familiarity With Electronic Health Records And Coding Software Used At Atrium Health
