- Provide safe and effective medication management for patients in the Emergency Room setting.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure appropriate and timely medication therapy for patients.
- Conduct medication reviews and make recommendations for appropriate therapy based on patient's condition and medical history.
- Monitor for drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and medication errors to prevent potential harm to patients.
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide medication-related recommendations to improve patient outcomes.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare team members regarding medication therapy and drug information.
- Stay current with new medications, treatment guidelines, and best practices in clinical pharmacy through continuing education and professional development.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills to make quick and accurate decisions in high-stress situations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and medication safety.
- Act as a role model for pharmacy students and residents, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Participate in departmental and hospital initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment through effective teamwork and communication.
A Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Institution.
A Valid And Current License To Practice Pharmacy In The State Of North Carolina.
Completion Of A Postgraduate Residency Program In Emergency Medicine Or Critical Care Pharmacy.
At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Clinical Pharmacist In An Emergency Room Setting.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Emergency Medicine Protocols, Drug Interactions, And Emergency Medication Dosing.
