- Provide emotional and psychological support to pediatric patients and their families during difficult times.
- Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective interventions for patients based on their individual needs.
- Assist in creating a positive and welcoming environment for pediatric patients and their families.
- Utilize knowledge of child development and psychology to promote coping and normalization for patients.
- Assist in planning and facilitating therapeutic activities for patients to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Communicate with patients and families to assess their needs and provide appropriate support and resources.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and progress.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as ethical and professional standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices in child life services.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure the best possible care for patients.
- Collaborate with community organizations and volunteers to provide additional resources and support for patients and families.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and their families.
- Demonstrate professionalism and compassion at all times while interacting with patients and their families.
- Continuously evaluate and improve upon current child life programs and interventions.
- Uphold the mission and values of Atrium Health and promote a positive image of the organization within the community.
Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Or A Related Field.
Previous Experience Working With Children In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Child Life Program.
Completion Of A Child Life Internship Or Practicum.
Certification As A Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Or Working Towards Certification.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Emotional Support To Children And Families.
