
Certified Child Life Specialist
At Atrium Health, we are currently searching for a compassionate and experienced Certified Child Life Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Child Life Specialist, you will provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions to children and families in the hospital setting. You will play an integral role in providing care that optimizes each patient’s emotional, psychosocial, and developmental needs.The ideal candidate will be a Certified Child Life Specialist with experience in a pediatric healthcare setting. You must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work with diverse populations and provide culturally sensitive care. Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions to children and families in the hospital setting.
- Utilize excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to work with diverse populations and provide culturally sensitive care.
- Develop and implement child life interventions for individual patients and families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Document patient interactions and progress in medical records.
- Develop educational materials for patients, families, and staff.
- Provide age-appropriate therapeutic activities to patients.
- Create and maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.
- Monitor patient responses to interventions and modify as needed.
- Remain up-to-date on current trends in child life practices.
Bachelor's Degree In Child/Youth Development
Psychology
Education
Human Services Or Related Field
Certified Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Credential
At Least One Year Of Clinical Experience As A Child Life Specialist
Knowledge Of Child Development And Family Systems
Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients
Families And Members Of The Healthcare Team
