- Ensure accuracy and precision in casting techniques to promote proper healing and recovery.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide clear instructions and answer any questions or concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to proper infection control protocols.
- Monitor and assess patients' progress and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of patient care, including cast application and removal dates, types of casts used, and any complications or issues.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest casting techniques and technology to continuously improve patient care.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during the casting process.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating appointments for patients.
- Maintain inventory of casting supplies and equipment, and order new supplies as needed.
- Participate in training and education programs to further develop skills and knowledge in casting and orthopedic care.
- Uphold the values and mission of Atrium Health and promote a positive and caring work environment.
Completion Of A Certified Cast Technician Program Or Equivalent Experience In Orthopedic Casting And Splinting Techniques.
Knowledge Of Anatomy And Physiology, As Well As Understanding Of The Musculoskeletal System.
Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information.
Strong Communication Skills And Ability To Work Collaboratively With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Demonstrated Ability To Follow Protocols And Maintain A Clean And Organized Work Environment To Ensure Patient Safety And Infection Control.
