- Perform complex cardiothoracic surgeries on patients with heart and lung conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart valve disease, and lung cancer.
- Utilize state-of-the-art surgical techniques and equipment to provide the highest quality of care to patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and research in the field of cardiothoracic surgery to continuously improve patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing compassionate and empathetic support throughout their surgical journey.

Medical Degree: Candidates For A Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery Job At Atrium Health Should Have A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Can Include An Md Or Do Degree.
Board Certification: Atrium Health Requires All Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgeons To Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Thoracic Surgery Or The American Board Of Surgery.
Residency And Fellowship Training: Candidates Should Have Completed A Residency In General Surgery And A Fellowship In Cardiothoracic Surgery. These Programs Should Be Accredited By The Accreditation Council For Graduate Medical Education.
Experience: Atrium Health Prefers Candidates With At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting As A Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgeon. This Can Include Experience In Both Adult And Pediatric Cardiac Surgery.
Licensure: All Candidates Must Have A Valid Medical License To Practice In The State Of North Carolina. This Includes Passing The United States Medical Licensing Examination (Usmle) Or The Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (Comlex). Candidates Must Also Maintain A Current Dea License.
