- Assist anesthesiologists and CRNAs in providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing medical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, including ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Set up and monitor patient monitoring devices, such as EKG machines and pulse oximeters.
- Assist with patient positioning and securing of airway devices.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities to the anesthesia team.
- Anticipate and respond to the needs of the anesthesia team during procedures.
- Prepare and administer medications and fluids as directed by the anesthesia team.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all procedures and medications administered.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and educational opportunities to maintain and improve skills.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the healthcare facility and Atrium Health.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.
- Stay updated on current anesthesia technology and procedures.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new Anesthesia Technicians.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in the performance of duties.
- Uphold the mission and values of Atrium Health in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Completion Of A Formal Anesthesia Technician Training Program Or Equivalent Experience In A Healthcare Setting.
Certification As An Anesthesia Technician (Cer.a.t.) By The American Society Of Anesthesia Technologists And Technicians (Asatt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Anesthesia Support Role, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
Familiarity With Anesthesia Equipment, Supplies, And Procedures, Including Set-Up, Troubleshooting, And Maintenance.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment.
