- Provide advanced medical care: As an AirCare Paramedic, your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality and advanced medical care to patients during air transport. This includes performing critical interventions, administering medication, and monitoring vital signs.
- Ensure safety and efficiency: It will be your responsibility to ensure the safety and efficiency of medical procedures during air transport. This includes adhering to safety protocols, maintaining equipment, and communicating effectively with the flight crew.
- Respond to emergencies: You will be responsible for responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate care to patients in critical conditions. This requires quick thinking, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Communicate with patients and their families: As a representative of Atrium Health, you will be responsible for communicating with patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner. This includes explaining procedures, providing reassurance, and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with medical team: You will work closely with other members of the medical team, including physicians, nurses, and other paramedics, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients. This requires effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to different working styles.

Certification As A Paramedic: The First And Most Important Qualification For An Aircare Paramedic Job At Atrium Health Is To Hold A Valid Certification As A Paramedic. This Includes Completing An Accredited Paramedic Training Program And Passing The National Registry Of Emergency Medical Technicians (Nremt) Exam.
Flight Paramedic Training: Atrium Health Requires Its Aircare Paramedics To Complete Specialized Training In Aeromedical Services. This Includes Training In Flight Physiology, Aviation Safety, And Emergency Procedures Specific To Air Transport.
Minimum Experience: Atrium Health Typically Requires At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Paramedic In A Busy Ems System Or Hospital Setting. This Experience Helps Prepare Paramedics For The Unique Challenges Of Working In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Air Medical Environment.
Advanced Life Support (Als) Certification: Along With Their Paramedic Certification, Atrium Health Also Requires Its Aircare Paramedics To Hold A Current Als Certification. This Includes Training And Proficiency In Advanced Airway Management, Cardiac Monitoring, And Medication Administration.
Physical Fitness: Aircare Paramedics Must Be Able To Perform Physically Demanding Tasks, Often In Challenging Environments. Therefore, Atrium Health Looks For Candidates Who Are Physically Fit And Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job. This May Include Being Able To Lift And Carry Heavy Equipment, Climb Ladders, And Work At Heights.
