We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team and provide exceptional care to our patients. As an APP in our adult cardiology inpatient unit, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of renowned cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive and evidence-based care to adult patients with cardiac conditions.   1. Provide high-quality and evidence-based care to adult patients with cardiac conditions in the inpatient setting.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  3. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical exams, medical history review, and diagnostic testing, to identify and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
  4. Prescribe and manage medications, including anticoagulants, antiarrhythmics, and vasodilators, in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  5. Perform invasive procedures, such as placing central lines and performing thoracentesis, as needed to support patient care.
  6. Monitor and interpret patient data, including laboratory results, vital signs, and telemetry readings, to identify changes in condition and intervene appropriately.
  7. Educate patients and their families about their cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and self-management strategies to promote optimal health outcomes.
  8. Collaborate with case managers and social workers to coordinate post-discharge care and facilitate transitions of care for patients.
  9. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records.
  10. Stay current with advancements in cardiology and participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
  11. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and safety standards.
  12. Foster a positive and professional work environment by communicating effectively with colleagues and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in adult cardiology care.
  14. Demonstrate a patient-centered approach and advocate for the needs and preferences of patients and their families.
  15. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree And Certification: Candidates For This Position Should Hold A Master's Degree In Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Program. They Should Also Be Certified As An Advanced Practice Provider (App) By A Nationally Recognized Certifying Body Such As The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc) Or The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).

  • Experience In Adult Cardiology: A Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience Working In An Adult Cardiology Setting Is Required For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Common Cardiac Conditions, Diagnostic Tests, And Treatment Plans.

  • Proficiency In Inpatient Care: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Providing Care To Cardiology Patients In An Inpatient Setting. This Includes Managing Acute And Chronic Conditions, Performing Admissions And Discharges, And Collaborating With Multidisciplinary Teams.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An App In An Inpatient Setting, Effective Communication And Collaboration With Patients, Families, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Interpersonal Skills And Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Compassionately With Diverse Populations.

  • Commitment To Quality And Evidence-Based Practice: Atrium Health Is Committed To Providing High-Quality, Evidence-Based Care To Its Patients.
