Develop and implement strategic plans for the successful execution of clinical trials for cell therapy programs.
Lead and manage a team of study managers, ensuring effective collaboration and communication within the team and with cross-functional partners.
Oversee the planning and execution of clinical trial protocols, including study design, site selection, and patient recruitment.
Monitor and track study progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact the successful completion of clinical trials.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the study management team.
Collaborate with other departments, including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Affairs, to ensure alignment and efficient execution of study plans.
Provide guidance and support to study managers, helping them to develop and grow in their roles.
Stay current with industry trends and developments in cell therapy research and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improve study management processes.
Communicate study progress, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines.
Serve as a key point of contact for external partners, such as contract research organizations (CROs) and study sites.
Drive a culture of high ethical standards and patient-centricity in all aspects of study management.
Represent AstraZeneca at conferences, meetings, and other events as a subject matter expert in cell therapy study management.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In Life Sciences Or Related Field: A Sr. Director Of Cell Therapy Study Management At Astrazeneca Should Possess An Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Or Biomedical Engineering. This Level Of Education Ensures A Deep Understanding Of The Scientific Principles And Processes Involved In Cell Therapy.
Extensive Experience In Clinical Trial Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Clinical Trial Management, With A Focus On Cell Therapy Studies. This Experience Should Include Successful Management Of Complex Studies And A Proven Track Record Of Delivering Results Within Budget And Timeline.
Strong Leadership And Strategic Thinking Skills: As A Senior-Level Position, The Sr. Director Of Cell Therapy Study Management Should Possess Strong Leadership And Strategic Thinking Skills. This Includes The Ability To Lead And Motivate A Team, Make Critical Decisions, And Develop And Implement Strategies To Achieve Study Objectives.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: A Thorough Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements For Cell Therapy Studies Is Essential For This Role. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Regulatory Agencies Such As The Fda And Ema, And Have A Strong Understanding Of Gcp And Other Relevant Guidelines.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication Skills Are Crucial For A Sr. Director Of Cell Therapy Study Management. The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Cross-Functional Teams, External Partners, And Key Stakeholders Is Essential For Success In This Role. Additionally, Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills Are Necessary For Presenting Study Results And Updates To Senior Management.
