  1. Develop and implement statistical strategies to support drug development across multiple therapeutic areas.
  2. Lead and manage a team of statistical scientists to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of statistical deliverables.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute clinical trials and provide statistical input for study protocols.
  4. Drive innovation in statistical methodologies and tools to improve drug development processes and efficiency.
  5. Provide strategic guidance and support for regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in statistical science to continuously improve AstraZeneca's statistical capabilities.
  7. Foster a collaborative and dynamic environment within the biometrics team and across the organization.
  8. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their statistical knowledge and skills.
  9. Communicate statistical strategies, insights, and results to various stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners.
  10. Represent AstraZeneca at conferences, meetings, and other external events to showcase our statistical capabilities and contribute to industry discussions.
  11. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all statistical activities.
  12. Work closely with project teams to ensure the quality and integrity of statistical deliverables throughout the drug development process.
  13. Participate in the selection and management of external statistical vendors, as needed.
  14. Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to statistical activities.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the statistical function.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Statistical Methodology And Application In The Pharmaceutical Industry, With At Least 10 Years Of Experience In A Senior Or Leadership Role.

  • Strong Understanding Of Drug Development Processes, Including Clinical Trial Design, Data Analysis And Interpretation, And Regulatory Requirements.

  • Advanced Degree In Biostatistics, Statistics, Or A Related Field, With A Demonstrated Ability To Apply Statistical Methods To Complex Problems.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Leading And Managing Teams, Including Mentoring And Developing Junior Staff.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Present Complex Statistical Concepts And Results To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
