Conduct thorough and ongoing analysis of the competitive landscape within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in the field of oncology research and development.
Identify and monitor key competitors, their products, and their strategies, providing regular updates and insights to the Oncology R&D division.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement competitive intelligence strategies and support business decision-making processes.
Utilize a variety of data sources and tools to gather and synthesize information on market trends, emerging technologies, and potential threats or opportunities.
Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and external experts to gain valuable insights and intelligence.
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Lead and participate in competitive intelligence projects, including market research, benchmarking, and competitive simulations.
Stay up-to-date on industry news, regulatory changes, and advancements in oncology research and development to inform competitive intelligence activities.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and help develop their competitive intelligence skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency and alignment of competitive intelligence efforts across different regions.
Identify and implement innovative approaches and tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of competitive intelligence processes.
Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of competitive intelligence strategies and make recommendations for improvements.
Represent AstraZeneca at industry conferences and events to gather intelligence and keep abreast of the latest trends and developments.
Act as a subject matter expert on competitive intelligence within the organization and provide guidance and support to other departments as needed.

Extensive Experience In The Field Of Oncology Research And Development: A Senior Director At Astrazeneca Must Have A Deep Understanding Of The Competitive Landscape In The Oncology Field, Including Key Players, Emerging Technologies, And Current Trends.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As A Senior Leader, The Candidate Must Have A Proven Track Record Of Effectively Managing And Developing A Team, As Well As Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams To Drive Results.
Strategic Thinking And Business Acumen: The Senior Director Must Have The Ability To Think Strategically And Translate Competitive Insights Into Actionable Recommendations For The Business. They Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of The Pharmaceutical Industry And Market Dynamics.
Excellent Analytical And Communication Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Strong Analytical Skills To Gather, Analyze And Interpret Complex Data From Various Sources. They Must Also Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Present Their Findings And Recommendations To Senior Leadership And Other Stakeholders.
Advanced Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field: Astrazeneca Typically Requires A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Pharmacology. A Phd Is Preferred. The Candidate Must Also Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In The Pharmaceutical Industry, With A Focus On Oncology R&D.
