Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of AstraZeneca’s strategic alliances and partnerships.
Establish and enforce processes and standards for managing partnerships and collaborations, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices in alliance management.
Lead and mentor a team of alliance managers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of partnership strategies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key strategic alliances, building and maintaining strong relationships with partner organizations.
Monitor and report on the performance of strategic alliances, identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans as needed.
Develop and implement metrics to measure the success of partnerships and identify areas for improvement.
Communicate regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on alliance management activities, risks, and opportunities.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in processes and standards across different functions.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in alliance management, and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Represent AstraZeneca in external forums and conferences related to alliance management, building the company’s reputation as a leader in the field.
Act as a champion for the company’s mission and values, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration across the organization.

Job Qualifications

Extensive Experience In Managing Cross-Functional Teams And Alliances: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Cross-Functional Teams And Alliances Within The Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry. This Includes Experience In Negotiating And Maintaining Partnerships, As Well As Managing Conflicts And Driving Collaboration Between Different Teams.
Strong Understanding Of Process And Standards Development: The P&S Director Will Be Responsible For Developing And Implementing Standardized Processes And Procedures For Alliance Management At Astrazeneca. Therefore, The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Process Development And Improvement Methodologies, Such As Six Sigma Or Lean, And Be Able To Apply Them To Alliance Management.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Industry Regulations And Compliance: Astrazeneca Operates In A Highly Regulated Industry, And The P&S Director Will Be Responsible For Ensuring That All Alliances Comply With Relevant Regulations And Industry Standards. Hence, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Relevant Regulations And Be Able To Develop And Implement Compliance Processes.
Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: As The Primary Point Of Contact For All Alliance-Related Matters, The P&S Director Needs To Have Exceptional Communication And Negotiation Skills. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Complex Information Effectively To Stakeholders At All Levels And To Negotiate And Resolve Conflicts With Partners.
Strategic Mindset And Business Acumen: The P&S Director Will Play A Crucial Role In Shaping And Driving Astrazeneca's Alliance Strategy. Therefore, The Candidate Should Have A Strategic Mindset And A Deep Understanding Of The Pharmaceutical Industry, Including Market Trends, Competitive Landscape, And Business Opportunities. This Will Enable Them To Identify Potential Partnerships And Develop Strategies To Maximize The Value Of Existing Alliances.
