In this role, you will play a critical role in the design, installation, and maintenance of essential utilities and infrastructure for our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Design and develop equipment and systems for essential utilities and infrastructure, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), water supply, and electrical systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all equipment and systems meet AstraZeneca's safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of utilities and infrastructure equipment, identifying and addressing any issues or malfunctions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all utilities and infrastructure equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Analyze data and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, using technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of new utilities and infrastructure equipment, ensuring that all work is completed within budget and on schedule.
Monitor equipment performance and energy usage, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices, ensuring that AstraZeneca's utilities and infrastructure equipment are utilizing the latest technologies and techniques.
Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to develop their technical skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to source equipment and services, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with AstraZeneca's standards and regulations.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or A Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical, Electrical, Or Chemical Engineering Is Typically Required For A Principal Equipment Engineer Position At Astrazeneca. This Provides A Strong Foundation In Engineering Principles And Prepares Candidates For The Technical Aspects Of The Role.
Extensive Experience In Equipment Design And Maintenance: Astrazeneca Seeks Candidates With At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In Equipment Design And Maintenance, Preferably In A Pharmaceutical Or Biotechnology Manufacturing Environment. This Experience Should Include A Deep Understanding Of Utilities And Infrastructure Systems, Such As Hvac, Water Systems, And Electrical Distribution.
Strong Project Management Skills: As A Principal Equipment Engineer, The Ability To Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously And Deliver Them On Time And Within Budget Is Crucial. Astrazeneca Looks For Candidates With A Track Record Of Successful Project Management, Including Experience With Scheduling, Budgeting, And Resource Allocation.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: The Pharmaceutical Industry Is Highly Regulated, And Astrazeneca Expects Its Principal Equipment Engineers To Have A Strong Understanding Of The Regulatory Requirements For Utilities And Infrastructure Systems. This Includes Knowledge Of Gmp, Fda, And Other Relevant Regulations, As Well As Experience With Regulatory Inspections And Audits.
Leadership And Team Management Experience: In Addition To Technical Skills, Astrazeneca Values Candidates Who Have Experience Leading And Managing Teams. As A Principal Equipment Engineer, You Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Engineers And Technicians, As Well As Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams.
