  1. Develop and implement financial strategies for the Rare Disease Unit (RDU) in the United States to support the overall business objectives of AstraZeneca.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and R&D to drive financial decision making and support business growth.
  3. Lead the financial planning and budgeting process for the RDU unit, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  4. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities to optimize business results.
  5. Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership on key business initiatives and investments within the RDU unit.
  6. Oversee the preparation of financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Manage the forecasting process for the RDU unit, providing accurate and timely financial projections to inform decision making.
  8. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, both internally and externally.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and investors.
  10. Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team to support the growth and success of the RDU unit.
  11. Stay current with industry trends and developments in the rare disease space, and proactively identify opportunities for AstraZeneca to stay ahead of the curve.
  12. Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function within the RDU unit.
  13. Represent AstraZeneca and the RDU unit at industry events and conferences, promoting the company's mission and values.
  14. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the finance team and across the RDU unit.
  15. Uphold AstraZeneca's commitment to improving the lives of patients with rare diseases and contribute to the company's overall success in this area.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Finance Or Accounting: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Master's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or A Related Field. This Level Of Education Ensures That The Individual Has A Strong Foundation In Financial Principles And Can Effectively Lead The Finance Team.

  • Extensive Experience In Finance Management: A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Finance Management, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry, Is A Must For This Role. The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Financial Operations And Leading High-Performing Finance Teams.

  • Knowledge Of Rare Disease Market: The Head Of Us Finance For The Rare Disease Unit Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Rare Disease Market In The Us. This Includes Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements, Reimbursement Strategies, And Market Trends Specific To Rare Diseases.

  • Strategic Thinking And Leadership Skills: This Role Requires A Leader Who Can Think Strategically And Make Decisions That Drive Financial Performance. The Candidate Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Motivate And Develop Team Members, And Effectively Collaborate With Other Departments.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Key Member Of The Leadership Team, The Head Of Us Finance Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. This Includes The Ability To Present Complex Financial Information In A Clear And Concise Manner, As Well As The Ability To Build Relationships With Stakeholders At All Levels Of The Organization.
