Lead the development and execution of AstraZeneca's AI and NLP strategy, in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Manage and mentor a team of AI and NLP engineers, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, biostatisticians, and drug discovery and development experts to identify opportunities to incorporate AI and NLP into processes and workflows.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends in AI and NLP, and assess their potential applicability to AstraZeneca's business.
Design, develop, and implement complex AI and NLP solutions that can enhance drug discovery and development processes, improve efficiency and accuracy, and drive innovation.
Ensure that all AI and NLP solutions adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure high-quality work and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with external partners and vendors to identify new tools, technologies, and resources that can support AstraZeneca's AI and NLP capabilities.
Work closely with stakeholders from various departments to understand their needs and requirements, and develop solutions that meet their specific needs.
Present updates, progress, and results of AI and NLP projects to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges that may arise during the development and implementation of AI and NLP solutions.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team and across the organization.
Represent AstraZeneca at relevant industry conferences and events to showcase the company's AI and NLP capabilities and stay informed about industry best practices and advancements.

Job Qualifications

Extensive Experience In Ai And Nlp: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience Working In The Field Of Ai And Nlp, With A Strong Understanding Of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, And Deep Learning Techniques.
Leadership Skills: As A Director And Principal Engineer, The Candidate Should Have Proven Experience In Leading And Managing A Team Of Ai/Nlp Engineers. They Should Also Possess Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Work Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams.
Technical Expertise: The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Programming Languages Such As Python, Java, Or C++, And Experience With Ai/Nlp Frameworks Such As Tensorflow, Pytorch, Or Spacy. They Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Cloud-Based Technologies And Data Analytics Tools.
Domain Knowledge: Astrazeneca Is A Pharmaceutical Company, So The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Pharmaceutical Industry And Related Data Such As Clinical Trials, Drug Development, And Medical Terminology. Experience In Applying Ai/Nlp In The Healthcare Industry Would Be An Added Advantage.
Problem-Solving Skills: The Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Successfully Delivering Complex Ai/Nlp Projects And Solving Challenging Problems. They Should Also Be Able To Think Critically And Creatively To Identify Innovative Solutions To Business Challenges.
