  1. Develop and implement strategies to prevent serious injuries and ensure process safety across all AstraZeneca operations.
  2. Provide leadership and direction to the Serious Injury Prevention and Process Safety team.
  3. Monitor and analyze incident and injury data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  5. Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  6. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with safety standards and identify potential hazards.
  7. Lead investigations into serious injuries and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  8. Develop and deliver training programs to increase safety awareness and promote a safe work environment.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in safety technology and incorporate them into AstraZeneca's safety practices.
  10. Communicate safety performance and progress to senior leadership and make recommendations for improvement.
  11. Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and industry organizations, to stay informed on safety regulations and best practices.
  12. Act as a safety resource for all employees and provide guidance and support as needed.
  13. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and laws.
  14. Drive continuous improvement in safety performance through setting and monitoring safety goals and objectives.
  15. Foster a safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of employees and patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Occupational Health And Safety, With A Focus On Serious Injury Prevention And Process Safety In A Pharmaceutical Or Chemical Manufacturing Setting.

  • In-Depth Knowledge And Understanding Of Relevant Regulations And Standards, Including Osha, Epa, And Fda Requirements.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Develop And Implement Comprehensive Safety Programs And Initiatives That Effectively Mitigate Risks And Promote A Culture Of Safety.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage With Cross-Functional Teams, Senior Management, And External Stakeholders.

  • Advanced Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Engineering, Or A Related Field, And Relevant Certifications Such As Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Certified Process Safety Professional (Cpps).
