We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Associate Director, Senior Patient Safety Scientist for our Oncology team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients receiving our innovative oncology treatments.   1. Develop and implement strategies for monitoring and assessing the safety of AstraZeneca's oncology products.
  2. Conduct comprehensive safety reviews and analyses of adverse event reports, medical literature, and other relevant sources to proactively identify potential safety issues.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide medical expertise and guidance on safety-related matters for AstraZeneca's oncology products.
  4. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and regulatory authorities.
  5. Lead the development and maintenance of safety-related documents, such as risk management plans and safety summaries, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  6. Contribute to the development and implementation of risk minimization strategies to ensure the safe use of AstraZeneca's oncology products.
  7. Participate in the review and approval process for clinical trial protocols, study reports, and other relevant documents to ensure safety considerations are adequately addressed.
  8. Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and guidelines, and provide guidance on their implementation to ensure compliance.
  9. Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on safety-related activities.
  10. Proactively identify and escalate potential safety issues to senior management, and assist in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  11. Collaborate with global safety teams to ensure consistent safety reporting and risk management across all regions.
  12. Act as a subject matter expert on safety-related matters for AstraZeneca's oncology products, both internally and externally.
  13. Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and systems to ensure the highest level of patient safety.
  14. Represent AstraZeneca at relevant conferences and meetings to stay updated on the latest safety trends and best practices in the oncology field.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field (E.g. Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing) With A Minimum Of 8 Years Of Experience In The Pharmaceutical Industry, Preferably In Oncology.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Global Patient Safety Regulations And Guidelines, Including Ich And Fda Regulations.

  • Proven Experience In Leading Safety Surveillance And Risk Management Activities For Oncology Products Throughout The Product Life Cycle.

  • Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Interpret And Communicate Complex Scientific Data To Both Internal And External Stakeholders.

  • Leadership Experience, Including Managing A Team, Mentoring And Developing Junior Staff, And Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams To Achieve Common Goals.
