  1. Lead and manage the Patient Safety team for device and digital products within AstraZeneca, ensuring the highest level of safety and efficacy for patients worldwide.
  2. Develop and implement strategies and processes to continuously monitor and evaluate the safety of devices and digital solutions throughout their lifecycle.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, clinical development, regulatory affairs, and commercial teams to ensure patient safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of product development and commercialization.
  4. Serve as the subject matter expert on device and digital product safety, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
  5. Conduct thorough risk assessments and proactively identify potential safety issues, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks and ensure patient safety.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and stay up-to-date on relevant regulations and guidelines for device and digital products.
  7. Lead investigations into adverse events and product complaints related to devices and digital solutions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to regulatory agencies.
  8. Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams and external partners on device and digital product safety.
  9. Drive continuous improvement in patient safety processes and systems, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Represent AstraZeneca at relevant industry conferences and meetings, sharing best practices and staying informed on emerging trends and advancements in device and digital product safety.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Knowledge Of Patient Safety Regulations And Guidelines: As An Associate Director, It Is Essential To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Patient Safety Regulations And Guidelines, Such As Fda Regulations, Iso Standards, And Good Clinical Practice (Gcp) Guidelines.

  • Experience In Medical Device And Digital Health: A Successful Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Medical Device And Digital Health, Including Knowledge Of Software Development, Cybersecurity, And Human Factors Engineering.

  • Leadership And Project Management Skills: As An Associate Director, You Will Be Leading A Team And Overseeing Multiple Projects. Therefore, Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills Are Critical To Success In This Role.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: This Position Requires Frequent Communication And Collaboration With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, And Commercial Teams. Therefore, Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential.

  • Prior Experience In Patient Safety: Previous Experience In Patient Safety, Including Adverse Event Reporting, Risk Management, And Signal Detection, Is Highly Preferred For This Role. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Effectively Manage Patient Safety Issues And Implement Risk Mitigation Strategies.
