  1. Perform vascular exams: Conduct a variety of vascular exams, including carotid, venous, arterial, and abdominal studies, using advanced technology and techniques.
  2. Monitor patient safety: Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures, including monitoring vital signs and responding to any adverse reactions.
  3. Maintain equipment: Properly operate and maintain vascular imaging equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and report any malfunctions.
  4. Document patient information: Accurately record and maintain patient information, including medical history, exam results, and any relevant details.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and provide comprehensive treatment plans.
  6. Educate patients: Explain procedures, answer questions, and provide educational materials to patients and their families to ensure they understand their conditions and treatments.
  7. Uphold patient confidentiality: Adhere to strict privacy and confidentiality policies to protect patient information and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  8. Ensure quality control: Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure accuracy and quality in all exams and documentation.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements: Attend conferences, workshops, and trainings to stay current with the latest advancements and best practices in vascular technology.
  10. Demonstrate compassion and empathy: Provide compassionate care to patients, especially those who are vulnerable or in need, in alignment with the organization's mission.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Vascular Anatomy And Physiology: A Vascular Technologist Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Vascular System And How It Functions In The Body.

  • Proficiency In Vascular Imaging Techniques: Candidates Should Be Skilled In Performing A Variety Of Vascular Imaging Techniques Such As Ultrasound, Ct Scan, Mri, And Angiography.

  • Certification And Licensure: Ascension Health Requires Vascular Technologists To Be Certified By The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (Cci) And Hold A State License.

  • Attention To Detail: As Vascular Imaging Involves Capturing Detailed Images Of Blood Vessels, It Is Essential For A Vascular Technologist To Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Accurate And Precise Results.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Vascular Technologists Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals, So Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary For This Role.
