  1. Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists in diagnosing and treating patients with various eye conditions.
  2. Use technical skills and attention to detail to accurately perform various ophthalmic tests and procedures.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly sterilized and stocked.
  4. Provide excellent customer service to patients, making them feel comfortable and at ease during their visits.
  5. Record and maintain accurate patient information and medical history.
  6. Educate patients on proper eye care and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  8. Monitor and assist with patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient appointments.
  9. Stay updated on advancements and changes in ophthalmic technology and procedures.
  10. Adhere to all safety and privacy regulations.
  11. Continuously strive for excellence in patient care and satisfaction.
  12. Attend trainings and educational opportunities to expand knowledge and skills.
  13. Maintain and organize ophthalmic equipment, reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs.
  14. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (Comt) Credential From The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Ophthalmic Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Environment.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Ophthalmic Instruments, Equipment, And Procedures.

  • Proficient In Medical Record Documentation And Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems.
