- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist in providing necessary tools and supplies.
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs during surgical procedures.
- Handle specimens and perform appropriate labeling and documentation.
- Maintain and update knowledge of surgical procedures, techniques, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate any concerns or malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to patient safety protocols.

- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.

Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree From An Accredited Surgical Technology Program Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That Candidates Have The Necessary Theoretical Knowledge And Practical Skills To Perform Surgical Procedures.
Certification As A Surgical Technologist: Candidates Must Be Certified As A Surgical Technologist By The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) Or A Similar Certifying Body. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Adherence To Professional Standards.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Instruments, And Equipment Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Have The Ability To Anticipate The Needs Of The Surgical Team And Assist With The Preparation And Maintenance Of The Surgical Environment.
